 MEMBERSHIP

During his excellent address at our AGM in November 2006, Cllr Gerard McEwen, Chairman of Essex County Council, made an unsolicited – and extremely welcome – plea for more Parish and District Councils to become members of Essex Playing Fields Association.

Annual membership costs a mere £25.00 for Parish and Town Councils; £50.00 for District and Unitary Authorities, and just £15.00 for Sports Clubs and Associations.

We rely totally on our membership for our income.  We have no other guaranteed annual income, and we need in the region of £30,000 each year if we are to continue to operate as we want to – which includes actively encouraging various organisations to maintain and improve their facilities by being able to make small grants to assist deserving causes.

There are some 270-plus Parish and Town Councils in Essex.  Only 71 of them are members of our Charity.  As Cllr McEwen so succinctly put it, if just the remainder joined it would give us extra income of £5,000 each year.  And what a difference that would make.

If you are a Parish Clerk, or a ‘mover and shaker’ in your sports club – please recommend membership of EPFA at your next committee meeting.  We need your support!

CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP

We have recently introduced a new class of membership of Essex Playing Fields Association – Corporate Membership.

Corporate Membership is aimed at local businesses that are keen to support the work of EPFA.  It is a reasonable assumption that most businesses in the county employ local people, many of whom have families and who would like to see playing fields and playgrounds maintained and preserved for their children (and their parents, for that matter!) to enjoy.

The subscription income generated by our Corporate Members will enable us to bolster our Small Grants Fund and make more and larger grants to deserving causes to help them improve their play facilities for their local communities.

The annual subscription for Corporate Members is £100.00.  The logos of our corporate members will appear on our website, on the Partner Organisations page with links to their respective businesses, and we invite you to “click on the link” and see whether they can provide services that you might be seeking.
